Hi, I’m Dean Gordon and welcome to Dean Gordon Drums!


I’m passionate about helping drummers of all levels unlock their full potential through personalised, one-on-one lessons. Based in the vibrant suburb of Albion on Brisbane’s north-east side, I offer both in-person and online lessons via Zoom, making it easy for you to learn no matter where you are.

About Me

I discovered my love for drums at the age of 12, and since 2013, I’ve been the drummer for ARIA Award-winning Brisbane band Sheppard. Over the years, I’ve shared stages with artists like Justin Bieber, Elton John, Robbie Williams, Keith Urban, and Meghan Trainor, and performed at iconic international festivals such as Rock in Rio (Brazil), Lollapalooza (USA), Austin City Limits (USA), and Pinkpop (Netherlands) in front of audiences spanning hundreds of thousands.

With 20+ years of experience in live performance and studio work, I’ve developed a teaching approach that blends technical expertise with enthusiasm and fun. Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced player, I focus on helping you build confidence, creativity and a strong foundation in rhythm—while tailoring lessons to your unique goals.

I specialise in the AMEB Rockschool curriculum, guiding students through Debut to Grade 8 in both Graded and Performance certificates. My lessons include preparation for video exams, and I welcome students of all ages and skill levels—whether you’re aiming for formal qualifications or just want to enjoy playing!

Posted @withrepost • @heygeronimo The end is coming. It might take a year, or a hundred, or a billion – but it’s getting closer. Our lives as individuals are over in an instant. So we cling to institutions, ideologies, and nations, hoping they will give us some kind of permanence. But every empire falls. We belong to a species which has been around for millions of years, but humanity will go extinct eventually. And one day far in the future, long after humanity is gone and the dying Sun has extinguished life on Earth, the universe will reach its final resting place. No matter what we do, the end is rushing towards us.
